Clooney's LA Confidential role

George Clooney is to star in a sequel to 'L.A. Confidential'.
The actor will play a corrupt policeman who risks becoming a fall guy for a mob murder.
In the film, 'White Jazz', Clooney's character is assigned to a potentially dangerous case for the Los Angeles Police Department while the department is under investigation for corruption.
The movie is the final book in the series that is referred to as James Ellroy's 'LA quartet of crime novels', which includes 'L.A. Confidential', 'The Big Nowhere' and 'The Black Dahlia'.
Clooney will start filming in 2008, before moving on to heist thriller 'Belmont Boys', which he will produce with Smokehouse Pictures partner Grant Heslov.
'Belmont Boys'is about a group of jailbirds who meet at a racetrack and almost pull off the job of a lifetime. Thirty years later, they find themselves back together to finish what they started.
