Sexy Chinese star Gong Li will not have to worry about her parents on the Mainland seeing her steamy sex scenes in 'Miami Vice', Chinese censors are planning on cutting around 20 minutes from the Hollywood pic.
Already moved from a planned late August release to around November 1 because of a Chinese “blackout” period in which only patriotic Chinese films will screen, the censor ruling is the latest set back for Universal’s cop caper.
Chinese audiences will see around 120 minutes of “Vice” – cuts had been anticipated by Mainland news papers and web sites because of the sex scenes.
Gong’s last hit, ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ was pulled from the release line-up in China after censors feared it would provoke anti Japanese sentiment on the Mainland.
