Luc Besson to continue directing if new film is a hit

Frankfurt - French director, writer and producer Luc Besson, 47, will continue to make movies if his soon-to-be-released animated film, Arthur and the Minimoys, is a hit, he said at the Frankfurt Book Fair Friday. If the movie is a success Besson said he would film the remaining two books he wrote in the children's series, despite telling French radio recently that he wanted to get out of the movie business. Besson described the five-year production time of Arthur and the Minimoys as a 'nightmare': 'It took two years to see the first shot on the screen.' However, the director said the movie, his tenth, has fulfilled all his dreams: 'Now I feel free. There is no film that I regret.' Movies directed by Besson include The Fifth Element, Leon, Nikita, and Joan of Arc. © 2006 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
