In the “I’m pissed off at Hollywood” news this week is the small two-screen Lorraine Theater in Hoopeston, Illinois (USA).

The theater reopened Friday, September 29 after being shuttered for two weeks by owner Greg Boardman in protest of the “lousy material” put out by Hollywood.
Boardman told the Chicago Tribune that he closed down the theater rather than run such studio offerings as Paramount Pictures’ ‘Jackass Number Two’ and Screen Gems’ ‘The Covenant.’
“I have one of the finest sound systems in the world, and I don’t want to waste it on such drivel,” Boardman said.
To make matters worse, managing editor of the Hoopeston Chronicle, Carol Hicks blasted Boardman for operating “the theater from his home in California.”
“He’s got away from Hoopeston and changed…He doesn’t know what people like here,” said Hicks.
Boardman flamed back by telling the Tribune, “I can fly back there anytime I want and show any movie I want…How many people can say they have their own movie theater and can do that?
Now that’s power for you!
