Despite all the recent buzz over what Iron Man's suit will look like in Marvel Entertainment's first independently produced feature – we now know who will play the comic character, Robert Downey Jr.
Screenplay written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and helmed by Jon Favreau (‘Elf’ 2003), Downey will play Tony Stark, a rich industrialist and inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a super weapon.
Instead, after torture and abuse, he builds a high-tech suit, escapes captivity to return home and use his Iron Man suit to protect the world.
Marvel Comics released the first issue of Iron Man in the 1960’s during the Vietnam War – Stark’s captivity originally orchestrated by the Viet Cong.
However Downy’s Iron Man will fight evil in today’s socio-political environment
A 2008 release is expected.

if this movie is a big hit I think that Marvel should think about the idea of a half hour saturday morning live action show similar to POWER RANGERS.
With digital fx these days and merchandise it would be a runaway hit with kids. Thre could be guests from time to time ( CAP ) ( spidey ) ( FF )
any Avenger who is not protected by some hollywood copyright law !!
It would be awesome !! Matter of fact scrap the movie and do the show !!!
