Superman not so super on BIG Imax screen

Canadian based big, BIG screen exhibitor Imax Corp. announced that its digitally re-mastered 3D version of Warner Bros. Pictures ‘Superman Returns’ has grossed over $30 million over the past 13 weeks of release.

The Bryan Singer helmed pic took in $22.7 million on 92 Imax screens in North America. This total against a total net of $198,507,265 from 4,065 locations."We are very pleased with the longevity of the film's performance in Imax theaters. The immersive Imax Experience has helped this terrific film continue to draw crowds thirteen weeks into its run," Warner Bros. Pictures president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said in a statement. The blockbuster which cost around $250-$300 million ranks 5th in total gross for 2006.Copyright 2006 by Monsters and Critics
