Phantom Indiana Jones
Aug 22, 2006, 16:19 GMT
George Lucas has warned fans that 'Indiana Jones 4' could be a disappointment.
Producer Lucas insists people need to keep their expectations in check because he doesn't want a repeat of the frustration that surrounded the hotly anticipated 'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace'.
He told Britain's Empire magazine: 'We're basically going to do 'The Phantom Menace'. People's expectations are way higher than you can deliver. You could just get killed for the whole thing. 'We would do it for fun and just take the hit with the critics and the fans, but nobody wants to get into it unless they are really happy with it.' However, the film's director Stephen Spielberg is confident it will be a hit. He said: 'Hopefully it will be different in all the right ways and the same in all the familiar ways.' Meanwhile, Harrison Ford, who plays the daredevil archaeologist, hopes filming will start by the middle of next year, with a release date pencilled in for 2008. Ford quipped: 'Before I was just working with Stephen and Harrison. Now everybody's a superstar, so it's a little bit more difficult than it was then. 'But there's a good chance it will happen. There are things left for this character to do.' It's been 25 years since the first Indiana Jones movie, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', was released.
