Well, actually this type of service has already been available, for about a year, for porn DVD's lol. Good old porn, always pioneering entertainment technology, ha ha
I wouldn't know about the downloadable porn industry. Honest (grin). But when most DVD files are so huge (up to 9 gigs) that a dual-layer DVD is used to burn one ... and that single-layer 4.3 gig DVDs are just barely within quality limits (for a two-hour film), it's hard to think of CinemaNow's 1.4 gig files as pioneering - unless they've come upon some magical lossless compression formula the public doesn't know about.
And even if they did find some magical lossless compression technique, there's always the bugger that you have to use their SPECIAL burning software to burn the DVD. Why is it that I get the feeling this type of software will change your computer system in such a fundamental way that, in the future, DRM will require you to 'ask permission' to burn your own home videos ... even if you try to use other DVD burning software.
All I can say is that I'll let someone else do the honors of complicating their already complicated system with this 'special' software - all for the joy of burning a 1.4 gig file to a DVD - and lie to themselves about how good the quality is. Hmmm ... what will the first downloadable HD files be ... 2.8 gigs?

This application has been available for years from one of the true pioneers in this space, LikeTelevision http://www.liketelevision.com I just downloaded very fat versions of 'An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge', and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' Best of all? The library is DRM free, and absolutely legal (according to the site, they abide by all US and International Copyright law...goo for them!)
Here's the thing, I've downloaded and burned to DVD, the obscure and unique titles on this site (they have over 10,000 hours worth!), but would never consider downloading and burning first run movie from Hollywood...I'd rather get in the car, go to Blockbuster.....or get them from NetFlix
Phats
Well, maybe this new software would help you get your Cds or Dvds presented to your audience on your website and have them shipped autmatically.'Dvd-Automator' http: //www...eportalsite...com/DvD_Automator
