Universal slates Missy Elliott biopic

Missy Elliott’s life is coming to the big screen.
Universal Pictures has acquired Dian Houston’s (‘Take the Lead’) draft screenplay which will have Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal on board to produce.
Elliott was born in Virginia in 1971, beginning her musical career with the all girl group Sista. She moved into writing and producing as a solo artist.
No director or talent have yet been name to the untitled project.
