Eminem travels with guns
By April MacIntyre Jun 14, 2006, 6:29 GMT
According to Daily Variety - rapper/actor Eminem will be the lead in a feature film remake of the classic '50's American TV show, " Have Gun, Will Travel" for Paramount. The original TV series featured actor, Richard Boone.
"Concept will be updated to contemporary times and see Eminem playing a modern day bounty hunter" claims Variety. "The setting could be Eminem's hometown of Detroit, but those details have yet to be worked out. Variety also reported that Interscope /Shady /Aftermath Films will produce the feature. The soundtrack will also likely have Eminem's musical touch.
The 1950's Television series has long been kicked around Hollywood as a vehicle for various actors, but Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg, is quoted as saying "Have Gun, Will Travel" will be revamped from the original, with some characters based loosely on ones from the series, as well as nods to certain story points."
He further elaborated that the modern version of "Paladin", Eminem's character, will not emulate the Richard Boone "take" on the role played as a quasi-renaissance man with a penchant for chess and brandy.

'Have Gun Will Travel' was one of the very best, serious television dramas of all time. It not only holds up today, but it beats most any modern series by comparison. So it deserves a proper film treatment, which it can't get in a revamped, 'loosely based' modern version.
That said, I'd really look forward to seeing Eminem reprise roles in other future great remakes, like Eminem in 'It's A Wonderful Life', Eminem in 'Casablanca', 'Citizen Kane', as 'Perry Mason,' or as Rod Serling in a film version of 'The Twilight Zone.' (ugh)
eminem did a great performance in 8 mile unlike many music entertainers he actually can act n i believe that will bring more atention from the american youth to the classics of the cinema

'Have Gun - Will Travel' was a show about character. When at work, Boone's Paladin was all business -- black garb, a horse and a gun (maybe a backup too). Very simple. Back at home he did enjoy the finer things.
Initially, I was not so excited about plans to resurrect the show, but if they stay true to the spirit of the original(s), it might work. Worth a shot, but please, don't ruin the legend.

I know of course that I should reserve judgment on this proposed project until after the fact, but my first thoughts are........Eminem's whole body couldn't fit into even half of one of Richard Boone's boots.I can see It now.....a rappin'cowboy dressed In black who preferes checkers over chess,
