Alec Baldwin faces off with duds designer Patricia Fields

Actor Alec Baldwin currently in production and playing opposite to Sarah Michelle Gellar in an adaptation of "The Girls' Guide to Hunting & Fishing" was reported by the New York Times to have had "differences of opinion" with the now departed costume designer, Patricia Field.

According to NY Daily News reporter Lloyd Grove, "when stylist and costume designer Field quit the New York production of "The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing" on Friday, she blamed the allegedly bad behavior of Baldwin as a factor in her decision." Field was not available for comment at this time.

In Grove's report, he further added that Baldwin "vigorously defended himself in a phone call, and called Field 'a fruit-salad head' and a 'whack job', 24-7".

Further comments were that Sarah Michele Gellar came to Baldwin's defense, telling the NY Daily news reporter, "Alec has been a doll, and anything else you've heard is entirely one-sided and untrue. Alec has been a dream co-star. It hurt me so deeply that anyone would say anything else."

The producers were quick to comment that it was a classic case of "creative differences" and not unusual for the film business.

Patricia Field recently wrapped "The Devil Wears Prada" as costume designer. Alec Baldwin recently wrapped "The Departed", and "The Good Shepherd" directed by Robert De Niro.
