Jack Bauer to the big screen

Kiefer Sutherland © Scott Alan / PhotorazziWhile Sutherland has not been offered to reprise the role of Jack Bauer, reports are that he is interested in the feature role.Sutherland announced back in May on the popular British TV program 'Jonathan Ross' that he would like to star in the big screen version. He also said he would like to see the film shot in the UK because of the very large '24' fan base there.Twentieth Century Fox is bringing on the series creators Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow to write script and series executive producer Howard Gordon to work on story.Season six of the TV series starts in late summer which is when the first draft of the feature is expected to be ready. Film is expected to begin shooting early next year.The film would not follow the 24 hour real time concept used in the TV show.Fox is reviving up remakes of other TV hits such as a big screen version of 'The Simpsons' set for 2007 and the second movie in 'The X Files' franchise – the first , ‘The X-Files: Fight the Future’, having been released back in 1998.
