Zombie brings back Halloween

Writer, director Rob Zombie (‘House of 1000 Corpses’) has been tapped by Miramax Films and Dimension Films to resurrect from the dead, the ‘Halloween’ franchise.

Zombie, who claims John Carpenter's original ‘Halloween’, is “hallowed ground to me”, will write, direct and help score, what he is calling both a prequel and a sequel to the 29 year old franchise.Zombie will focus more on the origins of Michael Myers, the masked assailant who massacred his family and other victims by slashing them.Late last week the rumor that Zombie was going to direct circled the Net - Zombie denied on his MySpace.com web pages. However, Dimension released the news June 5th. Horror pic will release Halloween, 2007
