Coming off release this week of 'Akeelah and the Bee' and the highly anticipated release of 'M:I-3' a week later (May 5th), Laurence Fishburne has signed on to star in the psychological thriller 'Prey'.

'Prey', to be helmed by James Marsh from a script by Jerrold Brown is the story of a man who sets out on a hunting trip in the middle of winter. He injures his leg and is rescued by a mysterious trapper with very sinister intentions.
Marsh directed ThinkFilm's "The King ," starring Gael Garcia Bernal and William Hurt. Pic preemed at the 2005 edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
Fishburne is a busy man these days - presently directing and starring in Warner Bros.' 'The Alchemist ,' based on the novel by Paulo Coelho and also just having finished playing a DEA agent in another WB project, 'The Death and Life of Bobby Z'.
His production company, Cinema Gypsy Productions recently optioned Gammy Singer's 'A Landlord's Tale' which is slated for an '07 release.
To top it off, Fishburne will be onstage at the Los Angeles (Ca) Mark Taper Forum in Alfred Uhry's "Without Walls" from June 1-July 16 2006.
