President of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Sid Ganis announced that the 79th Academy Awards would be held Sunday, February 25th, 2007, again originating from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood and broadcast live on ABC TV.
Wait a minute. Didn’t we just go through the march down the Red Carpet and the Oscar © telecast about a month ago?
Talking about an early marketing program……this must all be in line with the Motion Picture Association topper Dan Glickman when he called for Hollywood to make a greater marketing effort “to bring film lovers back to movie theaters”.
So, along with moguls across Hollywood, mark your calendars folks, here are the key dates:
Friday, December 1, 2006: official screen credits forms are due Tuesday, December 26, 2006: nominations ballots mailed Saturday, January 13, 2007: nominations polls close 5 p.m. PST Tuesday, January 23, 2007: nominations announced 5:30 a.m. PST Wednesday, January 31, 2007: final ballots mailed Monday, February 5, 2007: nominees Luncheon Saturday, February 10, 2007: scientific and Technical Awards Dinner Tuesday, February 20, 2007: final polls close 5 p.m. PST Sunday, February 25, 2007: 79th Annual Academy Awards Presentation
