the only beneficiary of this are those pirates. if i cant see it on movie house i can view it on my home, and who are they to tell me what i cant view and enjoy? i have my own mind, freewill and freedom.

This sucks. We have the right to watch it. Why can't they understand? Seems to me that the predominant control of the catholic churches are the ones pushing the banning of the movies. As it was written in the Bible, we have free will...well it seems that someone is trying to control our will. Too bad though, even if they ban it, there's still the internet and the pirated copies. Let's see if they can really stop us from watching this movie.

The plan of MTRCB to ban the said film is an insult to the Filipinos. Their act of banning the film is like discreetly saying that the Filipinos do not have a solid Catholic faith. The Filipinos are not dumb people, their faith would not be rocked by a simple film. And besides, if their goal in banning the film is to minimize the pinoys who are going to watch the da vinci code, they are surely going to fail. People will be more enticed to watch the film - so its of no use. If they ban the film, they will boost the 'Pirated DVD Economy'. They will tempt a lot (i'm not saying all) of Filipinos to buy the Pirated version. And as some of the ads say, piracy is stealing, and stealing is a crime...

Media is a cradle for creativity. Creativity should have no limit. So, you should not allow media to affect you too much...And I believe that the Filipino people know that already...

All I know is that if MTRCB decides to ban the 'The Vinci Code' in the Philippines, it would just increase the movie's popularity. More Filipinos would be curious as to why it has been prohibited to be screened, thus, increasing their urge to see the movie 'in any way' (Pirated DVDs & CDs). So, i think it is not a good idea for the movie to be banned in the country. And besides, we are not 'mindless', anyway, to believe easily to what we perceive. It really depends to the person if how the movie will affect his life after watching it. We must keep into our minds that every Filipino has its own freedom to believe on whatever he wants to believe.

mtrcb can let the movie be shown but be sure to rate appropriately.
it is so beneficial for us to see the movie and there is nothing to be scared of by the church.come on, it is just a test of faith.
is the church afraid that they will lose devotees?please don't be, let our people exercise their autonomy, and let them decide for themselves. let us not hinder and blindfold the mass seeing only one side of the story of the bible. you're being selfish to the mankind!
let be shown, and let the people cast their judges.
nothing to be lost if there is faith.
remember, a belief that has stood dozens of storm is the best belief!

The movie should be banned WORLDWIDE because it is blasphemy and it is out to ruin the image of the greatest man of all-time...JESUS CHRIST. The movie and book are a hoax meant to confuse people. In this day and age we need Jesus more than ever. I believe in free will but there is a limit. Who created the earth? Answer: God. Who was God's son? Answer: Jesus. Who saved the world? Answer: Jesus. Why did Dan Brown write the Da Vinci Code? Answer: Because he's stupid. Don't watch the movie and may God bless you.

Banning this film is unacceptable. There are a lot of organizations supporting this film, and spent large amount of money getting ready for the premiere show. Banning this film would result to many frustrated movie goers, discouraged youth organizations. All those wasted effort to simply watch this movie.

i believe that the mtrcb would go beyond the bounds of the constitution by banning the movie. the board can only regulate it by classifying it and cannot ban it totally under the freedom of expression portion of the bill of rights.
in other words it can only classify it as pg 13 or worst, r 18.
besides, why has a pornographic organization got to do with the da vinci code?

MTRCB are so stupid if they would ban this movie. They will just boost the curiosity of many filipinos. Let us judge the movie by ourselves and 'maybe' know the other side of the story it depends to the person watching it. And lastly I waited this movie since last year then now that they are planning to ban it is really disappointing.

Adrian, you're the stupid one... Everything written in the book may not be true but at least the book holds a brilliant story...It would be an outrage if the movie was banned!!If there were a lot of movies, even worse which were about the devil , not banned by MTRCB, why ban Da Vinci code.... Again, Adrian you're stupid!!

They are really stupid making this wonderfull movie to be banned in the Philippines. What scares them? are they scared of letting the people know the OTHER side of the story that according the book they are trying to hide. If they will ban this movie they are just proving that they are afraid to reveal 'maybe' the truth just like the gospel of judas. They know this gospel long ago and yet they didn't tell us about it until researchers found the evidence of it and reveal it to people. This only proves that our religion is really mysterious and so many secrets waiting to unfold just like the story tells us.

If they are going to ban Da Vinci Code because of the Catholic Faith then all I can say is 'What a stupid and lame way to tell the world that the Filipino people doesn't have a strong Catholic faith.' Why don't they just say to everyone what they really want to say. Why do they even have to make an excuse like this. If they are trying to stop the movie because of this then they are too late. If they wanted stop it because of Catholic faith then they should have banned the book from the beginning. The book was the main reason why many want to see the movie. The book's popularity and story made the movie very popular. If they will ban the movie, they will just increase its popularity even more.

Adrian - you are a stupid, arrogant, self-righteous fool. How would u feel the Bible being banned in China or Iran? You’re so single-minded and the proper label for you would be a Christian-Nazi. Feel your belief is superior compared to others? You must be pretty proud of yourself. I’m sad for you and to the people close to you.

Da Vinci Code talks about Mary Magdalene and Jesus.......I can't believe that MTRCB just dared or maybe on the state of banning the Da Vinci coed in the Philippines.......Their just showed how coservative Filipinos are!!! Da Vinci Code is just a 'NOVEL' and a 'Film based on a Book' it doesn't really a book it is a test how faith works on a person..... if you don't have enough brains this may affect you but Filipinos have brains! thanks to piracy there's a dvd of da vinci code hehehe...... MTRCB THINK FIRST OK!!!??? BEFORE THE SHOWING ON MAY 20.........the pressure is on!this is not a perverted movie? curious does the church and mtrcb are friends? like there's something that is really true about the da vinci dode

If you're a good Christian, you should NOT watch this movie. You know very well that it is blasphemous and insulting to Jesus Christ. The issue here is not about maturity or freedom or any of that baloney. The simple truth is---and you all know it--- this movie is like a slap on the face of Jesus. And any good person will steer clear of that altogether. So please..... be intelligent enough NOT to watch it.

banning this movie will only prove that filipinos are somewhat hypocrite in a way. this movie is just another movie. filipinos are not dumb enough to believe everything. besides, almost half of the the filipino population have read the book, so what is the use of banning it? it will just make the people who have not yet read the book more curious.

If they are scared and worried of what might be the effect to the faith of catholic church believers, then it would be a great measure how strong our faith could be. besides, no matter what is the truth behind and no matter what facts may be in that movie, it is still in our own discretion to believe it or not. we have to be more open now to things....

as for my opinion, the MTRCB should approve the showing of the said movie.....i have read the book but i can say that my faith to GOD didn't change...i still have a strong faith to GOD......reading the book and watching the movie version of it will be a very big challenge to every catholic because for me it will really test how strong our faith is....if after reading the book or watching the movie and ur faith didn't change...well congrats...it only means that nothing can change ur faith and ur relationship to GOD....the foundation of your faith is indeed strong!!! but if ur lose your faith to GOD and believe everything you have read or seen then it only means that the foundation of your faith is not strong...

Adrian, I think you are the stupid one. Why call the author stupid? What is your basis? That's the problem with closed-minded pricks like you. You tend to become unreasonable. Face it, not everyone believes the bible in its entirety. Who knows? The evidences cited in the book might be right. We can never tell who's right and who's wrong until we die. That's why there's more than one religion in the planet. No one really knows the absolute truth, well, a lot think they do so (like you).

I agree with you Ner. religion is like a temporary answer to questions that was still unsolved like the origin of life and universe but when time comes and scientist discovers the true answer i doubt if we would still worship gods. like the time of mythological gods, they worship gods but time comes and maybe some of us people from present time considers them a fool. time would come people would consider us too a fool because maybe at that time (future time) they already got the answers to the questions

I can't believe that people would really be affected by a film which is made up of fiction and theories. These are just the work of a creative mind and yet, people find it treatening? Why not band the book in the first place when it was the book who started the film, right?! Too sad to say that there are still filipinos who doesn't have enough faith, afraid that a simple movie would affect them. :(

If that's the case then, I'll be buying a pirated dvd and enjoy watching the film over and over again sitting on my comfortable couch, who doesn't tell me what movies to watch!

We are not protestant, we are catholic. Because this is the Dan Brown's fault by creating a movie. All of you thinks we are free. Yes, but the pope watches this film what we can say about it. If you tried to banned why is it in Lebanon was banned because of the da vinci code. Otherwise you have disgraced as a catholic. If you don't believe me? so you must look at the picture of the last supper there was no female at all. I really don't like filipinos who against Jesus.

Please read the bible in Bethlehem, moron? Da Vinci is a catholic painter, it was stated from my friend in Isreal.

you leave 'us' with no other choice but to buy a pirated dvd of this movie. this would be a great loss for the film industry and a BIG mistake of the MTRCB, i am a sixteen year old and me and my friends have been waiting for this movie but only to know that they would rate it as R-18., nabasa ko na ang Da Vinci and im now reading it's prequel Angels and Demons. Dan Brown is a great writer maybe too great...that's why 'they' take his FICTION as reality.

I'm not an anti christ in fact I am a catholic but we should accept that this theory might be true. there are possibilities that this are real or not. if you watched the documentary of holy blood holy grail they have real documents and findings holy blood holy grail is the original concept of da vinci code. dan brown only puts the documents as a thriller or a novel. if you watched it they really have a person that has the blood of christ. but for me if its true then so what i dont care if christ has a daughter or if his blood line really exist it does not matter to me IF IT IS TRUE

I've watched the movie and all i can say is its perfect although somescenes are missing like opening the first cryptex because in the movie they only have one cryptex and the password was apple only wich is the password for the second cryptex but i am happy because some scenes are really great they respect what is on the book. now I am hoping that angels and demons will be a movie too but it is a 90% will never be a movie but this is really a great novel i can say that it is more exciting and thrilling than da vinci code although they are both dan brown's novel

some people here were talking like they know everything.calling the author a stupid,or filippino catholics who watched this movie commited blasphemy.I am really disappointed when i heard about banning the movie in that country.I am not anti-christ or whatever. But who are these bishops who decide which are the things you should believe and which are not. They supposed to be messengers of God not be God himself who would tell people what should they be doing.People has the right to believe what they want.If their faith gets affected by this movie then they are not worthy of what they claim to believe in.This movie might change your beliefs or might widen your mind and maybe find the truth which has been hidden for a long time behind the great lies that men ever told.Only people can find the answers among themselves for the questions thats been hidden on a treasure box and the only key they possessed which is called FAITH can open it

im really lucky to be in the USA and able to see DA VINCI CODE on its 2nd day of showing (1st day was sold-out)... i cant believe that the movie is 'almost' banned in my home country ('almost' because it is only shown in small cinemas)... this is fiction!!! they never claimed to be the truth... it is a work of imagination... why should it be banned??? because of the premise that jesus and mary magdalene got married and has a living descendant??? i know it is shocking especially to us catholics/christians... but then again, just widen your minds and believe that this is just FICTION!!! get entertained, it's not a sin. all i can say is that IF YOU LOVED THE BOOK, YOU'LL LOVE THE MOVIE!!! it stayed true to the book and is FAR FROM BEING DULL!!! i'll definitely go see it again...
