All critcism of basic instinct II is unfounded. This script has lots of interesing twists and turns. As the seemingly treacherous femme fatale, in my opinion Sharon Stone does a convincingly proffessional job. The difference between I and II is as profound as the relative English and American backgrounds. I is American, crude and speculative. II, though not subtle is still by far a better plot, with a solid group of British actors backing Stone to the hilt, with twists and turns to the bitter end. Stone manipulates her anylyst victim all the way to the credit teksts. Let it be said here and now that II, in my opinion, is far more entertaining than the original. One can wonder what the condemnatory 'proffessional' film critics motives are when they evaluate I as better than II.
Dons opinion - don`t listen to the creeps.....!
See this film - if nothing else it`s good entertainment.
