ShoWest, the largest entertainment show in the world held annually in Las Vegas, wrapped Thursday (March 16th) with gala studio sponsored food functions for the over 3,500 theater owners in attendance.
The Event allows major and indie studios to roll out summer and fall product to energize cinema owners.
During Warner Brothers presentation, director Wolfgang Petersen showcased his upcoming (May 2006) ‘Poseidon’ , screening previously unseen cuts of the action thriller while M. Night Shyamalan screened “the movie I made for my kids”, ‘Lady in the Water' .
Warner also rolled out the first trailers for its animated ‘Happy Feet’ the story of Emperor Penguins, who find their soul mates through song, but alas, a penguin is born who cannot sing. But he can tap dance something fierce!
Bryan Singer wsa scheduled to screen new footage of his ‘Superman Returns’, however he was unable to attend but Warner reps did screen the footage.
Biggest announcement of the evening by Alan Horn, President and COO, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., was that the 'Batman Begins Sequel' will be the studio's priority franchise release for 2008.
And Hugh Jackman screened three new clips from Fox’s ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’. Jackman (who plays Wolverine) said that this was to be the last X-Men in the franchise.
