Zach Braff opens heart

Paramount Pictures has tapped Zach Braff ('Scrubs') to direct, produce and star in a remake of 'Elsker dig for evigt' ('Open Hearts'), a Danish film released in 2002. Braff, who won acclaim for 'Garden State,' was nominated for numerous awards including the Independent Spirit and Grammy Awards which it won.The film is about an engaged couple that is torn apart after the man is paralyzed in an accident, and the woman falls in love with the husband of the woman who caused the accident.Pam Abdy, who produced 'Garden State' will share producer credits with Braff.No release date has been set however Paramount expects to start filming in summer 2006 when Braff is on hiatus from 'Scrubs'.
