LOS ANGELES, CA (USA) Reports are coming in this morning that Oscar ® award nominated ('Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country') make-up artist Richard Snell passed away yesterday (February 21, 2006). Cause of death is still unknown.

Recently attached as make-up artist to Disney's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' and involved as make-up and special effects make-up artist on such features as 'Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story', 'Artificial Intelligence: AI',' How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and 'Species II', Snell was beloved by all in the makeup world of film.
Insiders say he was especially loved by Johnny Depp who he worked with on 'Pirates' as well as with veteran Oscar winning makeup artist Ve Neill - with whom he often collaborated.
Richard is survived by his wife Shantell and his two five-month old daughters Morgan Lee and Macallan Grace.
