Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis Team up for Dreamworks Flushed Away

Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis, who played Gandalf and Gollum respectively in the "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, are to lend their voices for "Flushed Away", being made by Aardman Animation ("Chicken Run") and DreamWorks Animation. Hugh Jackman is also in negotiatiaions ("X-Men" and "Van Helsing") to join them.The movie is a comedy rendered in stop-motion animation. The claymation feature tells the tale of an upperclass British rat who is flushed down the toilet from his penthouse apartment into the sewers of London, where he has to learn how to survive without life's luxuries.McKellen voices the film's antagonist, a villainous frog, while Serkis plays his hench-rat, Spike. Hugh Jackman, who has worked with McKellen before on the "X-Men" movies, would play Roddy, the pampered rat.Flushed Away is to be directed by Henry Anderson, David Bowers and Sam Fell.
