Scottsboro Boys Pic Heavens Fall Gets New Cast Members

Leelee Sobieski, Timothy Hutton and David Strathairn are to star in "Heavens Fall", an indie drama about the trial of the Scottsboro Boys.
Sobieski will play one of two women who accuses nine black men of rape. In what was one of the most controvetial trials to take place in the segregated South. Azura Skye plays the second accuser, who recants and sparks a second trial that might clear the defendants, most of whom received the death penalty. The case was one of the best examples of how bigotry and hatred can undermine justice.
Timonthy Hutton plays Sam Leibowitz, a renowned Gotham defense attorney who has never lost a capital case.
Bill Sage, Anthony Mackie and James Tolkan are also cast. Terry Green wrote the script and will direct. Filming begins on Monday in Monroeville, Ala.
