George Clooney doesn't think he'll win any Oscars this year.
Despite having three nominations, the former hunky actor expects to go home from next month's ceremony empty handed.
He revealed: 'I don't think I'm going to win any. 'There's been a lot of 'Brokeback Mountain' stuff.' The star added: 'Oscar nominations are as important as anything. The hope is that people will see 'Syriana' - I don't know about wins.' In 'Syriana', Clooney plays a CIA agent assigned to assassinate the heir to the throne in an oil-rich Persian Gulf country. Clooney grew a beard and put on 35 pounds for the role. The 44-year-old said: 'I put the weight on so quickly I was anxious to get it off. 'The depressing thing was that I could put so much weight on in 30 days.' Meanwhile, the star recently revealed that 2005 was the worst year of his life. Clooney - who had painful spinal damage after gaining a huge amount of weight - said: 'On my way to Morocco (where Syriana was filmed), leaving my house, there was a rattlesnake wrapped around my dog with its teeth in the back of his head. He added: 'It was just one thing after another too. My brother-in-law, who was 46 years old, stood up and had a heart attack and died.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
