Taryn Manning finds comedy in Weirdsville

\'Weirdsville\' follows two slackers named Dexter and Royce drifting through life until Royce\'s girlfriend Matilda overdoses on their drug stash. 'Hustle and Flow' star Taryn Manning is heading for 'Weirdsville'. She's signed up to star in the weirdly named indie comedy for director Alan Moyle according to Production Weekly.
The movie is set in Weedsville, a tiny prairie-town crammed with oddities, weirdos, and unexplained phenomena. It sounds a little like WB's Smallville, only without a flying teenager to fix things up.
Scripted by Willem Wennekers, 'Weirdsville' follows two slackers named Dexter and Royce drifting through life until Royce's girlfriend Matilda overdoses on their drug stash. To avoid a run-in with the police, the two brain dead buddies bury Matilda in the basement of a seasonally closed Drive-in theater. But Matilda isn't dead, and she awakens from her coma while the boys are in the middle of an encounter with a satanic cult. They escape, but the cultists think they brought Matilda back from the dead and they think Satan wants her back.
Taryn Manning will play the not-quite-stiff Matilda, no word on casting for Dexter and Royce.
This won't be Taryn's only recent run in with devil worshippers, in 2006 she'll also appear in the movie 'Cult', a horror flick about, you guessed it, a supernatural cult.
