Anakin teams up with McTiernan

‘Die Hard’ director John McTiernan’s next movie is about to start filming. ‘Crash Bandits’ starts shooting this February in Thailand according to Thai officials promoting their country as a cheap, exotic filming location for Hollywood producers.

The movie, which stars ‘Star Wars’ Hayden Christensen, is about treasure hunters seeking a crashed aircraft in the mountains. They’ll shoot in the mountains in northern Thailand, as well as at a resort in the south .

McTiernan made his name on hard edged action movies like ‘Predator’ and ‘Die Hard’, but he’s also responsible for tension filled thrillers like ‘The Hunt for Red October’. He’s had less success in the new millennium, with movies like ‘Rollerball’ and ‘Basic’ coming and going from the box office with barely a whisper. McTiernan hasn’t had a movie out since 2003, but along with ‘Crash Bandits’ he’s also slated to work on an action movie called ‘Deadly Exchange’.
