Keri Russell becomes a mom

Former “Felicity” star Keri Russell’s career continues to skyrocket. This summer she’ll appear opposite Tom Cruise in the blockbuster third ‘Mission: Impossible’ and now she’s been cast in the high profile drama ‘August Rush’.

The film is the story of a young musical prodigy named August Rush who uses his talent to find his parents. Russell will play one of the prodigy’s parents ‘Match Point’s’ Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as the boy’s father. Not long ago we heard Russell was in talks to take on the role, but now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that she’s signed on the dotted line for the Kristen Sheridan directed movie.

Freddie Highmore and Robin Williams have already been cast in the film. Highmore plays Rush while Williams plays his mentor.
