Clancy n the Hood

John Singleton is already supposed to be in pre-production on a superhero adaptation of the comic book ‘Luke Cage’, but it looks like he may be adding another movie to his to do list.
The Hollywood Reporter says Singleton has signed up to script and direct a movie version of the Tom Clancy novel ‘Without Remorse’ for Paramount. As with everything these days, Paramount is hoping they can find a franchise in it.
‘Without Remorse’ is a thriller revolving around a Navy Seal and CIA operative named John Kelly. The character has appeared on screen before. John Kelly appeared in ‘Clear and Present Danger’ played by Willem DaFoe.
Singleton is just starting casting on the movie, but say he’s looking for someone young and athletic. In other words Willem DaFoe shouldn’t expect any phone calls.
Singleton burst onto the scene in 1991 as the acclaimed director of ‘Boyz n the Hood’. Sine then he’s directed eight Hollywood movies including ‘Shaft’, ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ and last year’s ‘Four Brothers’.
