Los Angeles - Director George Lucas not only took in record income in 2005, but on Tuesday night, he also took home the highest movie honour awarded by the American public.

The People's Choice Award for the best movie and best movie drama of 2005 went to the final instalment in his 'Star Wars' science-fiction epic, 'Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith'.
'The reason I make films is for you,' Lucas said at the presentations in Los Angeles.
Other multiple award winners were Jennifer Garner and Ellen DeGeneres.
Garner won prizes for best female action star after appearing in 'Elektra' and for best female television star for her role as a intelligence agent in 'Alias'.
For the second year in a row, DeGeneres was named the favorite daytime talk-show host and best funny female star.
Other past winners were also honoured at the awards, chosen by Internet voting.
Johnny Depp repeated as the favourite male movie star after appearing in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' after last year's win for 'Pirates of the Caribbean'.
Brad Pitt also won again as the U.S. public's favourite leading man, but there was a new face for the favourite female movie star. Sandra Bullock, who recently appeared in 'Crash', took that prize over Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman.
In other prizes, Reese Witherspoon, who plays June Carter Cash in the Johnny Cash biopic 'Walk the Line', was named favourite leading lady, Matthew McConaughey took favourite male action star and 'Wedding Crashers' was chosen as the best movie comedy and the best on-screen match-up with stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
In other television prizes, 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' was named best drama, and 'Everybody Loves Raymond' was voted best comedy. Its star and creator, Ray Romano, was named best male TV star after the show's final season.
In the music awards, Green Day was named best group, U2 was cited for best tour, Kelly Clarkson won best female performer and Tim McGraw took best male performer honours.
The People's Choice Awards began the trophy season in Hollywood. On Monday, the Golden Globes will be handed out, and the highpoint of the season, the Oscars, will come on March 5.
