Ocean wants one more
By Joshua Tyler Jan 5, 2006, 4:54 GMT

You think they need one more? Neither did anyone else, but producer Jerry Weintraub is determined to make another sequel to 'Ocean's 11' anyway. He'll call it, predictably, 'Ocean's 13'.
Variety says Weintraub has brought in Rob Guralnick to help him produce another installment, and he's just had a script for the film handed in by Brian Koppelman and David Levien.
'Ocean's 13' is still in the early planning stages, but George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh are apparently in the plotting with Jerry, so expect them involved when it happens. That it's being considered at all is something of a surprise. The original was a solidly successful film with decent enough reviews, while the followup 'Ocean's 12' struggled to break even and was resoundingly panned by critics and moviegoers alike.
If there was ever an audience for a third 'Ocean's' movie it probably died with the franchises's limply arrived second sequel. Still, it's a good excuse for Clooney and his pals to go on a party-hearty vacation on some poor investor shlub's dime. Admit it, if making a third movie meant you got to party with his crowd, you'd want to do it too.
