Here’s what Fox says of a “Back to the Future 4” for those that are interested.
Q: Was there ever talk of a fourth film?
A: I think by the time we finished two and three we were all so damn tired and then Bob went on to do Forest Gump and I went on to do some television work and some other things, you know, I started my own show, Spin City. And now the only way it would work would be if I played Doc, I’m 44 years old now and I’m not interested in running around on skateboards! I think after 1,2 and 3 we all kind of felt we had done it. And I think if now they did it again they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun and I’m happy to watch it.

As I suspected...

It's over-hyped.

Thanks for finding that for us. I spent a lot of time digging on MovieHole for it and couldn't find it. I considered not even running the story because of it, but it had been so widely reported by now I thought I owed it to all of you to at least let you know it was out there.

Basically, it's a really old interview taken out of context that The Guardian for some reason decided to snap up.

I hate this ... I saw this on Sky News and instantly went to Moviehole... read the interview, and sent a very angry email to Sky News for running this bull. At the end of the day, he NEVER says he's in talks. He was speculating what would happen IF he was making one. He wont. I'm glad. The films are treasures and will last as they are for all time. Hollywood gold :D

Yeah, the story is being run EVERYWHERE at fact.

At least at M&C we tried to let you know it was a little suspect.

People don't even bother to check anything anymore, even supposedly legitimate news source like Sky News and The Guardian.

It would me magical to see the continuation of a 4 episode of Back to the future,
But i am please they have stopped it where it is, if they bring out another episode it will unfound the others episodes,
What they should do is update the cartoon series to dvd & continual on with theses

well heres my opinion..I love everyone of the movies. I know the first one by heart, almost every damn line of it. I think if they make a fourth one they should plan it out thorougly to make it good as hell. Make it better than they made the new Indiana Jones. Yes, it was good but he was too damn old for that shit. Now Michael J. Fox on the other hand (if he's up to it with his disease and all) should go for the marty part. I mean who the hell else can the play part as good as him? The way he played the part was great. I'm a huge fan of the movies and would love for them to make another one. But if so, I hope they make it kickass.

OK so heres the deal! there is really going to be a back to the future 4...for sure! no doubt, because i was at universal studios in orlando and one of the workers there told us about a new de lorean made in the studios outside of the park. end of story! mystery solved (:

Remember that old tv show max headroom? well cgi has come a long way since then, by now they can come close to rendering real life like images of actors, and use their voices, this is how a 4th back to the future movie could be made.

Option 2 would be a theatrical cartoon done via cgi.

Option 3 a real life film centering around doc browns kids, with as many of the origanal cast having cameos in the film, M.J. Fox could play himself with the parkinsons, if he is up to it, could be set to start or finish in 2010 - 2020

I would like to see more Back to the future!

I heard Michael J Fox Is getting better. his parkinsons doesnt look as bad before it was out of control but now he is recovering

Dear all,

The BTTF trilogy marked a hole generation. Even that those films are pure fiction without real science behind, they had influenced a bit on me in my decission to develop as a scientist (I should have also studied a mayor in physics, chemistry is not so bad, anyway...)

I think that care should be taken if BTTF IV is going to be filmed, e.g., I can't imagine Michael as 'Doc' Brown. Christopher Lloyd comes to my mind, and I guess it would be better if he appears again, as a really old 'Doc'.
Michael might play as the old Marty, and maybe the sons of Doc and Marty would play the most active roles (traveling in time, maybe an encounter with the LHC (Large Hadron Collider - just wondering)!)

Anyway, thank you Christopher and Michael (and the rest who made those films possible!)

Drake Bell would be a great replacement for Fox or he could go and try to save Fox from being trap in the future as an old sickly basturd that
went joy riding in the Delorian with his old lady and crahsed and Doc gives Marty. jr the keys to his new hot rod time machine to save his mom & dad stuck in the future.

Fox & Lloyd gets to be in the last one in cameos & passed the torch to Drake Bell as he takes the load of the story which would be focus on his adventures anyway.

Marty jr makes a wrong turn & goes to the past where he is attacked by Biff who then gets himself attacked by the younger (Part 2) Marty. Biff jr steals the part 2 time machine & messes up the past & the future screwing up everything Marty & Doc did in part 1-3.

Marty sr (Fox) is old & sickly & decides to stay in the future where he will grow even older & sicker and his son falls in love with a future girl
looking for him but then Biff kidnapps her in the old time machine & then all the sh!t hits the fan. He chases that dip sh!t to every time zone until he finds them in 2000 BC & Biff gets mauled by a T-Rex & Marty jr. puts a bullet in his head to put him out of his misery. The time machine main part wears out & they are stuck there until an Auto zone opens 1975.

They return & Doc asks him what took so long & who are these kids & woman with you? then he asks where is your mom & dad? and Marty jr. says he forgot about him with all the excitement with Biff jr. So Back to the Future 5 is born!
