Depp of the Deep

Deep sea 3D, a new underwater adventure from the filmmakers behind the successful IMAX 3D film Into the Deep, transports audiences deep below the ocean surface to swim alongside some of the most exotic creatures on the planet, from the bizarre rainbow nudibranch to the giant pacific octupus. James Cameron has had great underwater IMAX success with movies like ‘Ghosts of the Abyss’ and ‘Aliens of the Deep’. Now others are keen to get in on the rising popularity of IMAX documentaries in 3-D with more footage from Davy Jones’s locker.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet have been cast to narrate a new, giant-screen 3-D documentary called ‘Deep Sea 3D’ for Warner Brothers Pictures. Famed composer Danny Elfman will score the picture.
The WB has in the past released films like ‘NASCAR 3D: The Imax Experience’ in IMAX theaters. That film was narrated by Keifer Sutherland. They have a history of successfully combining big stars with documentary oriented IMAX pictures.
‘Deep Sea 3-D’ will be released in theaters March 3, 2006 exclusively to IMAX theaters.
