Ethan Hawke adapts himself

Ethan Hawke is set to direct his third film, and his first since 2001 according to Production Weekly.

Titled 'The Hottest State', it's adapted from a novel of the same name that Ethan Hawke himself wrote. 'Brokeback Mountain's' Michelle Williams is set to star in the film, no word on whether Hawke will act in it as well.

The book is a coming of age story, and tells the tale of a young actor from Texas who moves to grungy New York to pursue his career. He joins a group of young performers grappling with questions of self-identity.
