If a remake of ‘King Kong’ struggles to make money, how well do you think a sequel to an unwatched comedy will do?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Studios has just inexplicably greenlit a sequel to the Cedric the Entertainer movie ‘Johnson Family Vacation’. Likely you’ve never heard of the original, let alone have any interesting a sequel.

The original debuted last year and made a measly $31 million domestically amidst the sort of bad reviews usually reserved for Uwe Boll. Boll continues to make movies, and apparently the bad reviews and low attendance work for Cedric too.

The sequel will be written by Wayne Conley and Cedric is set to return. There’s no title or plot yet, but don’t be surprised to see it called ‘Johnson Family European Vacation’.
