Keira Knightley wrapped up in Silk

According to several different sources, including Keira Knightley's agent, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star has signed up to star in the Francois Girard (The Red Violin) movie 'Silk'. Don't get excited, it's not as sexy as it sounds.

The film is based on a bestselling novel by Alessandro Baricco. The book is the story of a married silkworm smuggler named Herve (who may possibly be played by Michael Pitt) in 19th Century France traveling to Japan to collect a wormy cargo. While in Japan, he becomes obsessed with the concubine of a local baron, a European woman. Their love exists in secret until Herve's wife Helene (played by Keira) becomes suspicious.

'Silk' starts shooting in 2006 after Keira's done filming the two upcoming back to back 'Pirates' sequels.
