Cumming kills for credit

Alan Cumming in \'Son of the Mask\'
Cast off by the ‘X-Men’ franchise in favor of a different blue character, Alan Cumming is left making his way through Hollywood without a guaranteed mutant paycheck. Somehow I doubt he minds.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cumming’s set to star and direct a dark comedy called ‘Suffering Man’s Charity’. Alan’s always been something of an all around renaissance man, and this will be his third time directing. The movie is about a struggling writer accidentally killed by Cumming’s character. Cumming finds his victim’s novel, and decides it might be a good idea to take credit. Haunting by the writer ensues.
In addition to himself he’s cast David Boreanaz, Anne Heche, Henry Thomas, and Carrie Fisher in the film. Boreanaz will play the murdered writer turned ghost, bonus points to Cumming if he can figure out a way for the ghost to have big, pointy fangs. Anne Heche will play the book’s publisher, Carrie Fisher a reporter, and Henry Thomas plays that kid who was in E.T. At least that’s what audiences will be saying. Poor guy, he’ll never escape that.
Alan describes his role as “the craziest person I’ve ever played,” and says about the film, “To call it a dark comedy is an understatement.” Expect something pretty weird.
