Mandy Moore is officially an actress, not a musician. She’s focused on her acting career and it’s paying off. The girl has something, and with every movie she keeps taking bigger risks and her skills keep getting better. She’s not going to be another Jessica Simpson… she’s got talent. In fact, she’s so good that gone are the days in which she stars in teen movies opposite a vapid male hottie of the week. Now she’s working with Diane Keaton. She’s starring in the movie ‘Because I Said So’ for Gold Circle Films opposite Diane. Also newly on board are Gabriel Macht, Tom Everett Scott, Lauren Graham, and Piper Perabo. Ok, the young male hotties aren’t entirely gone. At least Keaton is in there. Lauren Graham is good too. Directed by Michael Lehmann, ‘Because I Said So’ is about a well-intentioned and sometimes overzealous mother played by Keaton who sets out to find the perfect man for her daughter, played by Moore. Macht and Scott will predictably play date material while Perabo and Graham play Mandy’s sisters. Mandy Moore has just finished, among other films, working on the movie ‘Southland Tales’ for acclaimed cult director Richard Kelly. Before ‘Because I Said So’ she’ll star in the rom-com ‘Personal Shopping’ and the drama ‘Safety Glass’.
