Romero to reanimate more corpses
By Joshua Tyler Nov 29, 2005, 3:59 GMT

Master of the Undead George Romero isn't done with Zombies. This year he returned to the genre he popularized after a long absence with 'Land of the Dead'. Now Empire Online says he'll resurrect corpses again.
Romero told Empire: "Now that Land of the Dead did so well in European markets and Japan, and the DVD is flying off shelves, there’s talk of a sequel." Surprising, since it was only a few months ago that 'Land of the Dead' performed poorly in the US and Romero was talking about being done with reanimated corpses forever. It seems that he's changed his mind.
If he does another, it'll be Romero's fifth zombie movie. He first burst onto the scene back in 1968 with the now classic 'Night of the Living Dead'. It won't take him so long to make this one. George says there won't be such a gap between his zombie flicks this time. He'll get working on it soon, that is if he gets some sort of deal put together. According to him, "there's no ink on paper," at least not yet. The next Dead movie, assuming it happens, will follow the characters from 'Land of the Dead'.
Before he can do a fifth zombie movie, Romero already has a number of flesh-eating-free movies in his future. He's currently in pre-production on four films. Don't worry, they're all horror.
