Amber Tamblyn made her name buddying up to God in TV’s “Joan of Arcadia”, but now she’s moving on from the big guy to psychotic artists. The Hollywood Reporter says Tamblyn has been cast in the low-budget, psychological thriller ‘Spiral’. Co-directed by Adam Green and screenwriter Joel David Moore, the story revolves around a group of telemarketers. One telemarketer, played by Moore, has his dysfunctional relationship with his boss (Zachary Levi) alleviated when a quirky, whimsical new co-worker played by Tamblyn enters his life. Taking a cue from ‘Titanic’ and the career of Shannon Tweed, he starts sketching her. But drawing her brings disturbing feelings from his past to the surface, threatening to send him down the road to psychological destruction. If her body’s that disturbing, maybe he should put down the sketch pad. Just a thought. “Joan of Arcadia” is off the air, but twenty-two year old Amber Tamblyn has managed to put together a burgeoning film career. She appeared earlier this year in the movie ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’, and in addition to ‘Spiral’ she has two other upcoming movies on her radar.
