I Kill for Cronenberg

David Cronenberg made waves this year with his heavy, mafia hitman turned suburban house-husband movie 'A History of Violence', and now he's out talking about his next picture. According to the Italian website Bad Taste and JoBlo.com, Cronenberg's next movie will be a film adaptation of the Giorgio Faletti novel 'I Kill'.

The novel is the story of a radio disc jockey who received an on air call from a man claiming his planning to commit a crime. That night, a famous race car driver and his wife are murdered, and their faces are removed by the killer and used to make masks. Presumably, the killer is the guy who called the deejay.

The book (which is apparently quite popular in places not called America) has already been adapted into a screenplay by Davide Ferrario, and apparently the flick is going to be at least in part, a European production. It's being co-produced by investors in the US, Italy, and Europe at large.
