Watanabe's Memories

Talented Japanese born actor Ken Watanabe may have been robbed of an Oscar and a decent part in 'Batman Begins', but he's not letting it hold him back. This fall he'll get his due with a starring role opposite Ziyi Zhang in 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. He'll follow that up with a more personal film, shot in Japan.

Ken spoke with Empire Online about that next project, a movie called 'Memories of Tomorrow'. Ken says, "It's a young Alzheimers patient's story." Ken will star in the movie, so presumably he'll play the young man with increased forgetfulness.

Watanabe isn't just starring in the film though, he's executive producing. It's his hope that he'll be able to get the film distribution worldwide. The movie opens in Japan in mid-May, and if he's successful, everywhere else sometimes after that.
