Pairs skating comedy gets cast

This hasn’t been a good year for Will Ferrell. He starred in the critically panned movie ‘Bewitched’, tanked at the box office in ‘Kicking and Screaming’, and then was resoundingly ignored in the mediocre Woody Allen movie ‘Melinda and Melinda’. To get things going again, he’s teaming up with Napoleon Dynamite.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Ferrell and ‘Napoleon Dynamite’s’ Jon Heder may sign to star opposite SNL’s Amy Poehler and Will Arnett in the skating comedy ‘Blades of Glory’. Directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, the film would cast Ferrell and Heder as two world-class men’s figure skaters banned from the sport for a disgraceful, on-ice brawl during the Winter Olympics. To get back into the sport, they exploit a loophole and end up competing as partners in the only category open to them… pairs figure skating.
Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are already on board to play their rivals. The movie is being produced by Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films for DreamWorks.
