Banderas directs English in Spain

Antonio Banderas is about to direct his second film, and he’ll do it in Spain where people won’t be confused by his outrageous (yet sexy) accent.

Variety says the movie is called ‘El camino de los Ingleses’, which translates to ‘The Road of the English’. Based on a novel of the same name, it’s a coming of age tale set towards the end of the 70’s.

The movie has a huge cast of Spanish names like ‘The Sea Inside’s’ Alberto Amarilla. They’ll start shooting in Antonio’s home town of Malaga.

Banderas’s directorial debut was at the helm of 1999’s ‘Crazy in Alabama’, a movie about an abused wife starring Antonio’s actual wife ‘Melanie Griffith.
