Gosling plays with Hopkins

Gregory Hoblit will direct the movie ‘Fracture’ for Castle Rock/New Line, and he’s cast Ryan Gosling and Sir Anthony Hopkins in the film’s lead roles.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the film is a thriller, in which an assistant DA played by Gosling plays a “cat-and-mouse game” with a man who murdered his wife (Hopkins) and got away with it due to legal technicalities. The script was written by Daniel Pyne and Glenn Gers.

Hoblit’s most noteworthy film to date was the thoughtful Dennis Quaid time travel drama ‘Frequency’. He followed that up in 2002 with the Bruce Willis movie ‘Hart’s War’, and he’s currently in post-production on his next movie ‘Emperor Zehnder’, an epic starring Richard Gere.
