By Joshua Tyler Nov 3, 2005, 5:10 GMT

A beautiful, wealthy young party girl drops out of Harvard in 1965 and heads to New York to become Holly Golightly. When she meets a hungry young, artist named Andy Warhol, he promises to make her the star she always wanted to be. And like a super nova she explodes on the New York scene only to find herself slowly lose grip on reality... ...more
Linday Lohan continues to distance from her pop princess roots. She’s already signed up to work for Robert Altman in ‘Prairie Home Companion’ and for Emilio Estevez in his indie passion project ‘Bobby’. Now the Disney Radio superstar has signed up for another serious movie, the Andy Warhol/Edie Sedgwick biopic ‘Factory Girl’.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the film’s producers were intentionally looking for someone of her reputation. Lohan beat out Mary Kate Olsen for the part by impressing in her audition.
In the movie, Lindsay will play Brigid Berlin (a self described “overweight troublemaker") opposite Guy Pearce as Andy Warhol and Sienna Miller as Sedgwick. Brigid was a central figure in Andy Warhold’s entourage, she was also rather big-boned. That should make it easy for Lohan to avoid a return to Skeletor status, but is she willing to actually get fat for the role? Brigid was a big, big girl known for her photography and an ongoing battle with obsessive compulsive disorder

All she does is have sex with people to to improve her social status. She thinks she is making a statement but she is really only trying to follow her friends and make Page Six news...
That's what people are interested in unfortunately Wilmer.
Take our movie section here at M&C. The most popular stories are always ones like this one, stories about vapid, page six celebrities. Less popular are the heavier, more serious stories we do about the art of film or legitimate actors. People don't click like crazy to read what Paul Giamatti's next movie project or be, or about the new film from Scorcese. They want to read about Lindsay Lohan slutting it up.
Frankly, that sucks. But that's pretty much the IQ of the general public.
M&C I think, has a better, more educated readership than most, but the problem is pervasive. I can't say I'm much better. I see a story about Jennifer Love Hewitt playing a hooker and I'd click too. :)
