Witherspoon finds Reckoning
By Joshua Tyler Nov 2, 2005, 16:46 GMT
Reese Witherspoon, best known for playing meet-cute single gals in some of Hollywood’s most successful romantic comedies, is looking to be taken a bit more seriously. This fall she’ll play June Carter Cash in ‘Walk the Line’, the heavily buzzed biopic on the life of music legend Johnny Cash.
Next, The Hollywood Reporter says she’s set to follow up that dramatic turn with another, in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming dramatic thriller ‘The Reckoning’. The movie, written by ‘Silence of the Lambs’ Ted Tally, is based on a 2004 book by Jeff Long. It’s the story of a photojournalist (Witherspoon) who goes to Cambodia to cover the U.S. military’s search for the remains of an American pilot shot down during Vietnam.
Reese will produce the movie through her own production company, Type A.
