Michael Caine delivers in \'Batman Begins\'
Michael Caine may be getting older, but he’s also getting busier. He co-starred with Nicolas Cage this weekend in the movie ‘The Weather Man’, and now he’s signed up for two other films.
Variety reports that Caine is soon to be on his way to London, where he’ll join the cast of ‘The Children of Men’. The movie is directed by former ‘Harry Potter’ helmer Alfonso Cuaron, and it’s described as a Sci-Fi drama set in a not-so-distant future in which mankind can no longer procreate. Like just about everything these days, it’s based on something else, in this case a novel by P.D. James.
Once he’s done there, the British thespian will change gears and work for Christopher Nolan on his Batman movie tweener ‘Prestige’. The movie already stars Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as rival magicians battling for one another’s trade secrets. Caine will play a retired magician-mentor to Jackman’s character.
Of course, there’s still that untitled ‘Batman Begins’ sequel lurking somewhere off in the distance too. If that gets going, Michael Caine will be set to reprise his role as Alfred.
