Grind House starts casting

We've been hearing for awhile now about an upcoming collaborative project between directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. The movie is called 'Grind House' and Coming Soon has the latest on the film's first move towards casting.

It seems John Jarrett, of the new thriller 'Wolf Creek' is up for a role in the film. He appeared on a Perth radio station and announced that he's been asked to shoot 'Grind House' with Tarantino in Texas.

'Grind House' is a brutal, extreme movie collaboration between indie super-directors Tarantino and Rodriguez. It's two 60 minute horror movies, each written and directed by QT and Robert and then put together as a single feature. Quentin's segment is called 'Planet Terror' and Robert's is 'Death Proof'.

This isn't the first time the pair have directed together. Tarantino guest directed a scene in Robert's hit film noir 'Sin City' this year, and much earlier in both their careers, they each directed a room of the high concept 1995 movie 'Four Rooms'.

Both Rodriguez and Tarantino are coming off career highs. Tarantino is still running on the fuel generated by his critically acclaimed 'Kill Bill' series, and Rodriguez released the first of several planned adaptations of the Frank Miller graphic novels 'Sin City' earlier this year. In fact, he's already working on 'Sin City 2'.

Weinstein Co. currently has 'Grind House' slated for a Summer 2006 release.
