Former half-vampire turned vampire hunter Wesley Snipes is moving on from preventing the sucking of blood to hard edged, modern combat. Production Weekly says that Snipes has signed on to star opposite the 80s ass-kicker Jean Claude Van Damme in a movie called ‘The Hard Corps’. Written and directed by Sheldon Letich, the movie is about a battle hardened combat vet with the perfect action movie name of Patrick Sauvage (because Savage would be to obvious). Patrick (played by Van Damme) has just returned from 3 years of fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now in the private sector, he’s hired to play bodyguard to a former World Heavyweight Boxing champ who has run afoul of a dangerous rap mogul. To keep his client safe, Jean Claude assembles a team of experienced combat vets, dubbed “The Hard Corps”. To throw in a little something extra for the ladies, the boxer begins to suspect his sister is falling in love with the suave Mr. Sauvage. No word on who Snipes will play yet, though he’d probably be a natural fit as either the boxer or one of Van Damme’s commandos. Wesley’s next movie is the Jason Statham/Ryan Phillippe crime thriller ‘Chaos’, about two cops pursuit of a bank robber. It was Sheldon Lettich who first launched Van Damme on Hollywood. Lettich scripted ‘Bloodsport’, the movie that made Jean Claude famous.
