Frank Zappa's son Ahmet is catering to kids, and Disney's going to film it.

The Hollywood Reporter says Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have paid a hefty $1.5 million for the rights to Zappa Jr.'s children's book, "Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless". The book, like so many snatched up by big studios these days, has yet to be published. It won't hit shelves until next August.

Written and illustrated by Ahmet, the book is the story of a brother and sister rescuing their father from monsters.

"I wrote the book for kids, and all these grown-ups are telling me they enjoyed it," says Zappa. Who exactly these grownups are is unclear, since the book is unpublished and thus remains unread by the general public. I'm not sure it counts if it's Ahmet's agent.

Ahmet Zappa had been scheduled to start touring on a music tour with his brother Dweezil this October, but the tour has been postponed.
