Altman races to The Tortoise and the Hare

Robert Altman is a director who marches to the beat of his own drum, and next he'll be marching in the UK.
Empire Online says Altman will direct the film 'The Tortoise and the Hare' in London when he finishes his current project, 'A Prairie Home Companion'.
Based on a screenplay by Andrew Davies, 'The Tortoise and the Hare' is a relationship movie with four major parts. Emma Thompson is said to be in negotiations to play one of them.
Altman also has the movie 'Paint' on his docket. He may end up finishing that before 'Tortoise and the Hare' since it is already in pre-production. 'Paint' stars Salma Hayek, James Franco, and Glenn Close in a satire about the New York City art scene.
